IMTS 2024 PMC Smart Manufacturing Press Release
2024.09.04
Organized by the International Trade Administration (ITA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Precision Machinery Research and Development Center (PMC), the "Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Overseas Promotion Plan" joins hands with the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) and the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders’ Association (TMBA) to bring together 60 Taiwanese companies to participate in the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS 2024) in Chicago, USA. Under the theme of "Industrial Ecology," this initiative aims to showcase the comprehensive one-stop service capabilities of Taiwan's machinery industry. It focuses on two main themes: digital transformation and green transformation, strengthening cooperation between Taiwan and the U.S. in the supply chain.
Focusing on Digital and Green Transformation to Expand the U.S. Market
Dennis Lei, Director General of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, stated: “When customers visit the Taiwan Pavilion, they will find a comprehensive one-stop service, ranging from AI-powered machine tools and cutting tools to smart management systems.”
With the U.S. promoting the reshoring of manufacturing and infrastructure development, the demand for machine tools continues to rise. The Taiwan Image Pavilion presents the idea of "Industrial Ecology" of machine tools, bringing together upstream, midstream, and downstream suppliers, including high-performance machine tools (Quaser, Kao Ming, Sun Firm), cutting tools (MAROX), key components (DETRON, SYNTEC), and smart automation solutions (TENPRO). The pavilion emphasizes achievements in digital and green transformations, offering a one-stop service to fully meet the needs of the U.S. market.
Taiwan's Machinery Industry Continues to Innovate and Expand its Industrial Ecosystem Economy
On the first day of the Taiwan Pavilion exhibition, a press conference themed "Green, Digital, and AI Manufacturing" kicked off a series of integrated marketing activities. Five companies — DAHLIH, YCM, QUASER, Kao Ming, and Sun Firm — presented their solutions in smart manufacturing and AI applications. On the second day, Professor Li Jie from the University of Maryland was invited to introduce the development of AI technology in smart manufacturing and manufacturing resilience. Additionally, CHMER, Cosen, and Main Drive showcased how Taiwanese companies build on their existing foundations to create innovative products and services for customers worldwide. On the third day, the product launch featured Taiwan's top component manufacturers, including TENPRO, DETRON, CAM POWER, SPINDLEX, and HIWIN. They offered modular and customized product technologies to U.S. buyers, meeting core demands for quality and reliability, and further strengthening the position of Taiwanese companies in the international market.
Deepening Taiwan-U.S. Cooperation for a Win-Win Outcome
This exhibition not only showcased Taiwan's manufacturing capabilities but also highlighted the customer-centric philosophy aimed at providing excellent products and services to the U.S. market. As economic cooperation between Taiwan and the U.S. deepens, Taiwan's machinery industry will continue to drive digital and green transformation. Through ongoing innovation and enhanced competitiveness, it will continue to deliver advanced machinery and smart solutions to global markets. The participation in the Chicago Machine Tool Show creates more opportunities for future Taiwan-U.S. cooperation. Director General Dennis Lei expressed hope that Taiwan's participation in this exhibition will strengthen its influence in the U.S. market and promote deeper collaboration between the two sides in the field of smart machinery, paving the way for a digital and green future together.
